Plastics: An Industry in Transition - A Comprehensive Analysis of a Dynamic Industry developed by Robert J. Bauman provides a strong insight into the historic, current and future developments that continue to shape the plastics industry.

The Plastics industry is undergoing one of the greatest transformations in its history:

  • Investment and trade patterns are shifting and country risk is not an impediment.
  • High energy costs have reduced plastics profitability even though operating rates are high.
  • Environmental action against plastics has resurfaced globally with plastic bags a major target.
  • Mergers and aquisitions continue to reduce the number of companies, with state-owned, private individual and financial buyers becoming increasingly important.
  • Globalization is increasing with new players emerging.

This plastics course is designed to provide a strong insight into the historic, current and future developments that will continue to shape the industry.

Our goal is that attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the plastics industry, the issues that have shaped it in the past and will continue to shape if in the future.
